Prepare a useful cable specification

Start with the signal path

State the operating frequency range and impedance. Define the complete installed length and your attenuation budget, including interfaces. A frequency value without test conditions is not enough to compare cables.

Describe the real installation

Include routing, minimum bend radius, movement, temperature, moisture and chemical exposure. Identify whether flexibility is needed only during installation or repeatedly during operation.

Make acceptance measurable

List connector interfaces, dimensions, tolerances, required tests and documentation. Separate mandatory limits from preferences. Final performance must be confirmed for the specified construction.
